There is a wide variety of photo subjects that require the use of a GND filter (gray graduated filter). But not every GND is suitable for every situation.

So wouldn't it be best to always have the right filter when you need it? Our Graduated Filter Set gives you exactly that.

Because this set contains all common GND filters that you can use to compensate for motifs that have different brightness gradients.

Photographers select the respective filter types according to how hard or soft the transition of a horizon line is, or whether only the middle of the picture should be darkened, such as at sunrise or sunset.

The set includes the Soft GND, Center GND, Medium GND, Hard GND and Reverse GND filters - all have a strength of 8 (3 stops) except for the Soft GND which comes in the set with a strength of 16 (4 stops). This is because the GND 8 is the most popular GND filter that many customers already own.

The medium GND can be used for these motifs:

  • Mixed urban motifs (houses with water, bridges and sky)
  • Mountain ranges with forest, sky and sun
  • Overall, motifs where the horizon line is rather uneven

GNDs are used for motifs in which the brightness conditions have a certain progression and therefore require different exposures for an evenly exposed image. A classic place of use of a medium GND is, for example, the recording of a city center, which has many different elements and brightnesses and must therefore be classified exactly between hard and soft GND. The Medium GND compensates for such a scenario.

The F:X Pro Graduated Filter Set consists of five filters with different intensities:

  • Soft GND16
  • center GND8
  • Media GND8
  • Hard GND8
  • Reverse GND8

Exemplary color fidelity with an extremely fine coating

Our GND rectangular filters are coated with the Luminance Coating developed by us. As a result, your images will always be pin-sharp, even with cameras with a resolution of 150 megapixels. Our filters are 99.5 percent non-reflecting. This way you get exemplary color fidelity - and show your motif as it is.

We give our filters longevity with Gorilla® glass. Translucency and color neutrality are further attributes of our filters. But it is also scratch-resistant. At the same time, you can easily clean the glass from dirt thanks to its special coating.

Optical filters should be error-free. Differences in color and texture or permeability must therefore not occur in order to give you the best photographic result. That's why we have the strictest specifications for ourselves - united under the term "Engineered And Quality Controlled in Germany". A quality control that takes effect as early as the development phase: Our quality promise to you: As soon as a certain number of random samples from a production batch do not meet our own quality criteria, the entire volume of the batch will not be accepted. So you can be sure that you always get the best Rollei quality.

*Note: Gorilla Glas® is a registered trademark of the Corning company and is used by us for our filters - all rights to the name belong to the Corning company.
